Last week, I had an interesting chat with the local media about the uproar that has been caused within the beauty community as hairdressers opened their doors earlier this month and pubs too.

The opening of pubs has really put a damper on beauticians across Gloucestershire and the U.K as a collective meeting of drunk and rowdy people has been deemed safer than the salon environment, which is bonkers!

As you all know, my business is located at home, but is separate from my property, it is clean and as many of you may know who follow me on social media, I have even gone the extra mile and had additional training to keep you all safe.

A one-on-one beauty consultation or even a one-on-one hair appointment is safer than being in a pub and even the super-market! With a host of PPE, hand sanitiser and being able to adapt my business to cater to protect the public, many beauticians such as myself believe it is time, we are allowed to open our doors too!

“There are a number of people who still view the beauty industry as it was back in the 1980s, a bit of pamper and fluff rather than a bigger picture of it being more about treatment therapy and people’s mental health.“

The beauty industry has come a long way in the past few decades with the role of a beautician changing to be a supportive friend and treatment provider that helps support mental health but boosting self-esteem in clients. With that said, I really hope that I will be able to give you all an update on when we are going to be re-opening soon. You will be in safe hands, as always. I really can’t wait to see you all!
